Brief Overview of Sol CBD
Sol CBD was founded in 2015 by Larry and Oksana Ostrovsky. Their passion for natural health products stems from personal experience; Oksana was born with three different autoimmune disorders that were supposed to be incurable, but she was able to find natural treatments to cure all three of them. Sol CBD was born from their mutual interest in natural products for health and wellness.
Our Sol CBD Review
Sol CBD makes enough products that we weren’t able to try them all. We focused instead on a small number of their most popular CBD products.
We started with the natural tincture. A one-ounce bottle of the tincture contains 300mg of CBD in the form of full-spectrum hemp extract. There’s no added flavoring in this tincture, so you’ll get the taste of pure hemp. The only other ingredient in this tincture is MCT oil, a natural fat found in coconuts. It makes a great, tasteless carrier oil and it also improves your body’s ability to absorb the CBD. A serving size if half a dropper full, which will give you 5mg of CBD. A full dropper is 10mg. The lose dosage makes this perfect for micro-dosing and getting your daily dose of CBD.
The Liposomal CBD comes in the same strength- 300mg of CBD in a 1 ounce bottle, and is also made using full-spectrum hemp extract. The difference is the liposomal formula instead of a normal oil. Liposomes are little bubbles of phospholipids, very similar to natural structure that your body uses to transport things in and out of your cells. It’s a trendy thing in the world of supplements because it allows you to absorb the supplement faster and with the need for any food to speed absorption. It has the added benefit of preventing you from tasting the CBD, if you aren’t a fan of the taste of hemp. Sol CBD’s liposomal formula comes in a delicious orange flavor, and is made to be stirred into a glass of water. The biggest benefit of the liposomal formula is that you feel the effects of the CBD immediately, and, because you absorb it more efficiently, you can get the same effects with a much smaller dose than you’re used to.
The final product we tried was the CBD infused herbal balm. In addition to full spectrum hemp extract, which provides 125mg of CBD per jar, the balm contains thirteen other botanical ingredients. Lemon Oil, Rosemary Extract, Sunflower Seed oil, Eucalyptus Oil, and others provide soothing, healing qualities. This balm is designed for treating joint pain, arthritis, muscle pain, and the like. You’ll feel the effects of the topical CBD almost as soon as you rub it in, and it smells great, too. It works just as well for irritated or dry skin.
The natural tincture also comes in a Cinnamint flavor were we unable to try. Sol CBD also has a line of organic skincare and pet products that we were unable to try, but if it’s anything like the rest of their products, its top quality.
The capsules, likewise, are probably great, we just didn’t get a chance to try them. They give you a higher dose than the tinctures, though. Each capsule contains 15mg of CBD, comapred to 10mg for a full dropper- two servings- of the tincture. The capsules might be a better choice if you’re taking CBD in response to a specific event, like an unusually stressful day. If you buy both, you can micro-dose with the tincture daily, and give yourself a boost with the CBD capsules on days when you feel like you need something extra. Or, micro-dose with the liposomal CBD. You really can’t go wrong here. The capsules are vegetable-based so vegetarians and vegans can take them. Of course, you can take the capsules every day as your regular dose of CBD if that’s what you want, too. There are no hard and fast rules here. The capsules are a bit more convenient, and you don’t have to worry about disliking the flavor, because you won’t taste the CBD at all.
Sol’s CBD comes from organic hemp grown in Colorado. That’s all we know about it- no farm is listed. We would have preferred to see more specific information, but we suspect this means that they probably work with more than one farm, and don’t necessarily buy from the same farm each time.
The taste is great. The natural tincture tastes like hemp; some people like that, others don’t. if you don’t like the taste of hemp, buy the cinnamint flavored tincture. You’ll get all the same benefits. The orange flavor of the liposomal CBD was great, too, and made with all natural ingredients, sweetened with stevia.
The website is easy to use and navigate, and the purchasing process is dead-simple. we were a bit confused by “delivery frequency” option, since every product appears to have only the option for one-time delivery. If there’s no subscription option, it’s not clear why you’d even mention delivery frequency on the product page. It’s not really a problem, but it did make us think for a second that we could subscribe to a product we liked and maybe get a discount, and it’s disappointing to realize we can’t.
Lab test results for each product are clearly displayed so you can always trust that what you’re getting really is high-quality, full spectrum hemp extract rich in CBD. Sol CBD is confident enough in the quality of their product that they offer a 60-day money back guarantee. An unconditional money back guarantee, at that. If you’re unhappy with the product for any reason within two months of purchasing it, they’ll give you all your money back. We suspect they haven’t had to fulfill that guarantee very often.
