Another popular company, Charlotte’s Web, has received a class action lawsuit stating that they have overstated the amount of hemp extract in their CBD creams.
The products in question are:
- Soothing Scent Hemp Infused Cream
- Unscented Hemp Infused Cream
The defendant’s website and the packaging for its “Soothing Scent Hemp Infused Cream” and “Unscented Hemp Infused Cream” state that the products contain “750mg Hemp Extract,” according to the lawsuit. In truth, the case alleges, the products contain “significantly less” hemp than represented by Charlotte’s Web. Cited in the lawsuit is independent testing performed on the plaintiffs’ behalf that allegedly confirmed that samples of each product contained anywhere between 177.5 and 347.9 mg of cannabinoids, which the suit says is “considerably less” than consumers were led to believe.
